Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31

Third treatment
Andrew went through his third treatment without a problem. He is getting used to taking the medication and being hooked up to his machine for many hours at a time. Everyone at U of M Hospital has been outstanding, especially the nurses. Thank God for nurses!!!!
On April 5, 2010 we took Andrew into the doctor because he was having trouble breathing. The doctor recommended a steriod treatment. Before giving steriods, they needed to check his white blood cell count. His white blood cell and platelet counts came back low. The doctor observed Andrew for about a week before sending us to a Pediatric Hematologist/Oncologist. This new doctor did a bone marrow scan to see what was happening inside Andrew's bone marrow. Andrew was diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia. Aplastic Anemia is a blood disorder where the bone marrow fails to replace new blood cells. This blog has been made in order to inform our family and friends of Andrew's treatments and hospital stay. Please feel free to share with other people. If you are interested in becoming a bone marrow donor please visit http://www.marrow.org/ for further information.
