Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31

Andrew unplugged
Andrew was finally unhooked from his IV for a few hours. He was very excited. We were able to get some hockey sticks and he played a game of hockey in his room. Andrew is feeling good. Tomorrow he starts his treatment.

We love you, Andrew. See you soon. Grandpa & Grandma. :-)
On April 5, 2010 we took Andrew into the doctor because he was having trouble breathing. The doctor recommended a steriod treatment. Before giving steriods, they needed to check his white blood cell count. His white blood cell and platelet counts came back low. The doctor observed Andrew for about a week before sending us to a Pediatric Hematologist/Oncologist. This new doctor did a bone marrow scan to see what was happening inside Andrew's bone marrow. Andrew was diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia. Aplastic Anemia is a blood disorder where the bone marrow fails to replace new blood cells. This blog has been made in order to inform our family and friends of Andrew's treatments and hospital stay. Please feel free to share with other people. If you are interested in becoming a bone marrow donor please visit http://www.marrow.org/ for further information.

You look like a real NHL Red Wing with that hockey stick! Glad you had some fun today. In my prayers always. Love you Mrs. Rose
Great to see that smile on his face!
