The weekend is over and there is nothing of significance to report. Andrew had no problems, except for pinching both thumbs in separate incidents. He had no troubles with his medication either.
Erin and I spent the weekend working on things around the house to help Andrew. Erin and Shelayne cleaned every toy the kids have with bleach and water. Erin and I cleaned and reorganized the kitchen, getting rid of any older food. We also cleaned the backyard, the basement, and put away everything from the hospital and everything that traveled with the girls over the past couple of weeks. There is now Purell and antibacterial soap at every sink and every entrance to the house. After all of this, we feel much better about minimizing bacteria in the home for Andrew.
We are going up to U of M tomorrow morning to take a blood count. It is very likely that Andrew will need another platelet transfusion tomorrow morning as well.

Andrew's Story
On April 5, 2010 we took Andrew into the doctor because he was having trouble breathing. The doctor recommended a steriod treatment. Before giving steriods, they needed to check his white blood cell count. His white blood cell and platelet counts came back low. The doctor observed Andrew for about a week before sending us to a Pediatric Hematologist/Oncologist. This new doctor did a bone marrow scan to see what was happening inside Andrew's bone marrow. Andrew was diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia. Aplastic Anemia is a blood disorder where the bone marrow fails to replace new blood cells. This blog has been made in order to inform our family and friends of Andrew's treatments and hospital stay. Please feel free to share with other people. rec'd updated news on Andrew from email/previous prayer requests. Just wanted to encourage you all... if my son can beat the odds... anyone can. My son was also 4 1/2 when he was diagnosed w/ a terminal illness. He is now 8 praise GOD. GOD is FAITHFUL. Keep believing and speaking the TRUTH over Him. will leave link to our video testimony... don't know if anyone has sent it to you.
